Wrap up summer at Laval’s family festival
If you are looking for some inexpensive fun for the family, Laval’s Fête de la Famille might be the ticket. It takes place Sunday, Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Families can expect musical entertainment with a Baratanga performance, which is an energetic show that incorporates African rhythms and percussion.
Parents and children will discover haggling pirates and valiant Vikings at either the pirate village or during the medieval tournament. There will also be a farm with a variety of animals including cows, alpacas, horses, and chickens. Free pony rides will be available as will canoe and kayak rentals. Adolescents can enjoy themselves at the Teen Zone, complete with a live DJ, skateboard competitions and a graffiti mural.
The festival, which takes place at the Centre de la Nature, 901 du Parc Ave. in Laval, aims to foster a sense of community as well as create an occasion for people of different backgrounds to connect.
