Workshops address financial matters for families with special needs children

Financial expert offers advice to parents of kids with special needs.

 If your child lives with a disability or chronic illness, you may have questions about government programs to pay for services, tax credits and other financial issues. Nathan Leibowitz, an Investment Advisor with Assante Capital Management is offering two free workshops that will let families know what is available to them. The first one will be held June 15, 2011 at 8301 TransCanada Highway in St. Laurent and the other one on June 22, 2011 at the Atwater Library 1200 Atwater Ave. in Montreal. Both workshops start at 7:30 p.m. Leibowitz will provide parents with information on special needs allowances, tax credits, funding for communication devices, writing wills and trusts as well as welfare programs for people with disabilities.
