Website explains family legal issues
Éducaloi, an organization that explains the law to Quebecers, has just launched a revamped bilingual website.
The new site has more than 600 articles and videos dealing with everyday legal questions.
For parents, the site provides practical information on topics such as adoption, the legal rights and responsibilities of parents, bullying, and the differences between the rights of married and common-law couples.
A redesigned Youth Zone has content written for young adults. It covers topics from cell phone contracts and rules on driver’s licences to signing an apartment lease.
Articles on the site are organized into categories, including work, families and couples, housing, health, businesses, as well as wills and estates. All the content is written in plain language, free of legal jargon.
Éducaloi is an independent, non-profit organization based in Montreal that receives funding from a variety of sources. www.educaloi.qc.ca.
