Thanks to an alert I Spy Montreal reader for reminding me about Virgin Radio Mix96 Movies in the Park – these summer movie screenings happen on Wednesday nights at parks around Montreal. Sponsors provide hot dogs, ice cream and popcorn starting at 7 p.m., and the shows start when the sun goes down.
The movies shown range from animated to grownup fare. Here are two Movies in the Park screenings for kids that are coming up in August:
- Aug. 18. Fantastic Mr. Fox will be shown at Cedar Park Heights, 22 Robinsdale Ave., Pointe Claire. The movie is recommended for age 7 and up. Watch the trailer.
- Aug. 25: How to Train Your Dragon will be shown at Shamrock Park, Pincourt. The movie is recommended for age 8 and up. Watch the trailer.
