Two new camp options for sports lovers
In addition to its day camp on the West Island, SportLife is offering a new multi-sports day camp and a seven-day sleepaway camp to aspiring athletes.
The day camp is for kids ages 5 to 15, and will feature a different sport over four weeks: basketball, flag football, soccer and hockey. Held at Brébeuf College, campers will have access to state-of-the-art sports facilities, including a turf field, indoor courts, and an ice rink.
Sportlife is known for giving kids a professional sporting experience. A typical week will include kids being “scouted,” a walk on a red carpet, and video highlight reels and interviews. Kids will also play in a mock championship and take part in an awards ceremony at the end of the week. The camp will be held July 6-31, and costs $270 per week. Discounts are available when registering for more than one week. Camp goes from 9 a.m. to 3:20 p.m.
The sleepaway camp is open to kids ages 8 and up. Campers will learn the ins and outs of ball hockey at the Y Country Camp in Huberdeau, while doing other outdoor activities and sports. They will get the full SportLife experience, complete with “scouting,” red carpets, a mock championship and daily training, while also having the chance to go swimming, tubing, kayaking, and more. The aspiring star athletes will get to experience bonfires, cookouts, cabin living and beach parties.
The sleepaway camp is being held the week of July 27 to August 2, and costs $1, 375. The price includes three meals and two snacks a day, which are kosher and nut free. Vegan options are also available. Drop off at the bus will be at 8:30 a.m. Monday at Place Vertu, and pickup will be 5 p.m. Sunday.
SportLife will also be offering its regular West Island day camp, for 10 weeks starting from the end of June. Each week focuses on a different sport. The camp is for both beginner and advanced players, with a focus on having fun and building team spirit. Kids are separated based on age and experience. The camp is open to kids and teens ages 5 to 15. Prices vary depending on the sport ranging from $230-345 per week. Extended hours and buses are available.
