Toyfest expo coming to Laval in December

Toyfest, a toy exposition that aims to let families discover some of the biggest and most popular brands in the toy industry, is coming to Laval in December.

Canadian toy and game manufacturer Imports Dragon is behind the event, which was created for children of all ages and was conceived with the notion that all children deserve to play and discover the world around them through play.

Toys such as NHL figures, Trash Packs, Johnny Test, toys inspired by the film La Guerre des Tuques 3D, Caillou, Zelfs, Shopkins, Qixels, Fashion Angels and much more will be on display at Place Forzani in Laval on Dec. 4, 5 and 6.

Parents won’t be able to purchase toys onsite, but they will be able to get all information about prices while kids enjoy a variety of activities including interactive games, face painting and arts and crafts. Mascots will also be there to entertain.

“I am always on the lookout for unique activities we can do as a family,” says Marie-Christine Proulx, Toyfest spokesperson and mother of two young kids. “In addition to spending a perfect day with your family where the kids can take part in all kinds of activities with their favourite characters, we’re giving back to children, so all the profits are going directly to a good cause.”

The profits will be donated to Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada, a charitable organization devoted to bringing laughter and hope back into the lives of children with serious illnesses. Starlight aims to improve the lives of Canadian children from the emergency room to recovery by providing in-hospital entertainment and out-of-hospital programs.

All visitors will receive free toys with an estimated value of $50 with the purchase of one ticket. Online pre-sale tickets come with a bonus gift bag also valued at $50. Tickets are $15, free for children 18 months and younger. Free parking is available.
