This Just In: RCMP Musical Ride comes to St. Lazare

Thanks to an alert I Spy Montreal newsletter subscriber for tipping me off about a local RCMP Musical Ride performance, which will be part of the Jump for Hope, breast cancer fundraiser in St. Lazare on Saturday, May 29. The RCMP Musical ride is as Canadian as it gets, with mounties in their red coats riding black horses, performing choreographed routines to music.

The Musical Ride will be held at 4 p.m., at Eastwood Equine, 4170 Ste. Angelique Rd., St. Lazare (there is a map on the Jump for Hope website). It is free and open to the public, although a donation of $10 per car would be much appreciated.

Before the musical ride, at 3:30 p.m., there will be a demonstration ride by a group of cancer survivors. The Jump for Hope coincides with the St. Lazare Horse Show, a world-class competitive event with a $25,000 grand prize. Viewing of the $25,000 Grand Prix is at 1:30 p.m.

The RCMP Musical Ride is touring various towns in Quebec over the next few weeks, and its next performance in the greater Montreal area is in Laval on June 15. Here is the full tour schedule.
