Support for parents of teens struggling with addiction
Parents of children dealing with substance abuse, gambling or cyber addiction can get help in an eight-week group program being launched this spring.
The Parent Education About Addiction and Kids (PEAK) group aims to provide peer support and expert advice for parents with children between the ages of 12 and 25 dealing with addiction-related issues.
The focus of the program is to offer parents information on addiction, as well as advice on how to enhance parenting skills to change the dynamic in difficult parent-child relationships.
The next PEAK group session begins Tues., March 24 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at #100-3285 Cavendish Blvd., Montreal.
