St. Hyacinthe Expo a massive event with family activities

For ten days this summer, a massive agricultural event will take over a farm on Montreal’s South Shore. The annual Expo St. Hyacinthe will take place from July 18 to 27, 2019 and will feature tons of educational activities, daily shows and concerts.

Children of all ages can meet more than 1,800 animals on the farm, hop on and off the 25 rides at the amusement park or take part in numerous activities. Parents will want to make the Espace Famille their first stop, as it will host the most kid-friendly entertainment. Daily pony and tractor rides, inflatable playgrounds, special performances and more will be available.

There will be plenty of music- and dance-related events the festival. Kids can test their dance skills during zumba sessions on July 18, 20 and 24, or jam along to the positive tunes of Anne-Lune on Saturday, July 27 at the Lassonde stage. Saturday will also feature a summer performance by Moppi and Mélodie, while characters from the Quebec television series Salmigondis will entertain little ones through song, dance and a series of interactive challenges.

Kids between the ages of 4 to 10 can also put their culinary chops to the test and participate in daily baking workshops. Also available throughout the festival is La Place de la Famille du lait, a large pool area where kids can swim or ride around in pedalos. There will also be picnic tables with parasols for families to relax by the water. On July 20, families can head to Galeries St-Hyacinthe and take part in different activities put on by by the Sheraton Saint-Hyacinthe Hotel, as well as get their faces painted and head to the photobooth to commemorate the day.

St. Hyacinthe farm is 30 minutes from Montreal on the South Shore. Expo St. Hyacinthe is an annual event that encourages families and children to learn about agriculture through fun events and activities. Daily admission to the festival is free for children under the age of 4, 15$ for kids between the ages of 5 and 11, and $20 for those over the age of 12.
