SportLife: a new day camp where kids can be professional athletes

Does your child dream of professional sports stardom?  SportLife, a new co-ed day camp located at McGill’s Macdonald campus in Ste. Anne de Bellevue, aims to give kids a taste of what it is like to be an elite athlete.

From Monday’s draft pick to Friday’s championship game, kids learn what it’s like to be a star by taking part in practices and games, trades and player interviews, and by tracking their statistics and watching video highlights.

“If your child is the ultimate sports lover, this is the camp,” says owner Evan Horner. He says that the camp, for kids 7 to 15, stresses sportsmanship, team building and skill development, and is suitable for children of all skill levels.

The one-week sessions focus on different sports, such as soccer, floor hockey, football, basketball or softball. At the end of each session, parents are invited to an awards ceremony with video highlights of their kids in action.
