Children in Grades 4 and 5 can now ski and snowboard for free, thanks to the Canadian Ski Council’s SnowPass.

Parents can apply online and  an e-pass will be sent to the email address on the child’s application. The SnowPass should arrive by post within three weeks of receiving the e-pass. Some ski /snowboard hills have blackout periods, may require a paying adult to accompany the student, or have a customized offer. All this information will be in a folder your receive with the pass.

Originally this was a province-wide offer but it is now a Canada-wide pass. So if you live in Quebec but vacationing in Alberta, your kids can use their pass while on holiday. The pass can be used as soon as the hills are open for business.

This program has been running for 17 years and more than 500,000 students have availed of this offer. If your child is in Grade 4 and applies for the pass, it is good for two years, no need to reapply in Grade 5.
