Registration is open for Day Camp Urban Excursion, a newly launched summer camp being held this summer at Parc Jean-Drapeau.

For those looking for fun and active days, the camp is offering a number of options where youngsters can learn, play, and grow. Six specialized programs will be available to youth 5 to 17, giving children and teens the chance to explore interests, develop new skills, and build friendships.

From June 27 to August 26, a team of leaders will guide the campers as they discover the huge park and its facilities. Camps with various themes and activities will appeal to a wide variety of interests.

“Our professionally trained team is ready to create unforgettable moments that will allow our campers to develop essential skills while having fun on a dream site,” says Eric Czerniecki, president of Day Camp Urban Excursion.

With access to a myriad of facilities available at the park, campers will tackle obstacle courses, climb, swing, and leap across a module that’s similar to the Ninja Warrior and Warrior Junior shows. Kids will also have access to water activities such as canoeing, kayaking, peddle boats, and standup paddleboards. The park also has bicycle paths, a rock-climbing wall, and plenty of space to enjoy nature.

Each of the programs includes the opportunity to experience a whole range of activities, including the Ninja courses, as well as outings to Jean-Doré Beach, La Ronde, the Biosphere, and the park’s aquatic complex.

The following are the six options for summer camp:

  1. Ninja Cardio
Personal challenges and a focus on developing physical skills and confidence. A grand finale will take place on the last day. Ages 5-12. ($450/week)
  2. Park Excursion
Various activities and rock climbing, kayaking, biking, Ninja training, swimming, an outing to La Ronde, and more. Ages 5-15. ($425/week)
  3. Dance and yoga
Practice mindfulness and experience the harmony between body, mind, and the environment. Also, participate in other activities in the park and enjoy a day of surprises and fun on the last day. Ages 5 to 12. ($450/week)
  4. Green Technology
Focus on eco-responsibility and awareness of environmental protection. Campers will garden, do science experiments, explore the park, and take part in physical activities such as the Ninja course (and spend time at the beach). Ages 5-12. ($450/week)
  5. Martial Arts and Philosophy
Activities aimed at self-development and respect for others, and the environment. Campers also get to take part in other activities around the park. Ages 5-12 ($450/week)
  6. Counselor in Training (CIT)
A program comprising theory and a practical training component for ages 15 and over (free for the summer). Participants who complete the apprenticeship and internship will be offered a summer job the following year.

A shuttle service will be offered from the Berri-UQAM and Longueuil–Université-de-Sherbrooke metro stations. The camp also offers extended supervision service before and after camp as well as a lunch service.
