Share the Warmth seeking donations for school supplies

Share the Warmth, a local non-progit organization, is seeking donations and volunteers for its upcoming Magasin-Partage, occurring from Aug. 21-23. The organization is asking for the following supplies to be donated:

Canada one line notebooks
ccoloured crayons
wax crayons
HB pencils
round scissors
regular scissors
duo-tangs with pocket
3-hole duo-tangs
pencil cases
looseleaf
erasers, etc.

To donate, contact Katina at (514) 933-5599 ext. 222 or katina@sharethewarmth.ca. If you would like to make a monetary donation, you can do so online at sharethewarmth.ca or send a cheque that is payable to Share the Warmth.

Approximately 160 children from 80 different families have already registered to receive donations. The Magasin-Partage acts an opportunity for parents to purchase school supplies at a low cost.

Share the Warmth is also seeking volunteers to help out with the triage of donations, as well as its other events, including their weekly fruits and vegetables market and barbecues, in the kitchen, etc. To volunteer, contact Naouel at (514) 933-5599 ext. 225.

On Oct. 28, the organization will host the second edition of Partageons la PUCK, an event that helps raise funds for their youth programs. Last year’s fundraiser saw two teams coached by the legendary Guy Lafleur and Montreal Canadiens’ General Manager Marc Bergevin go head-to-head. They raised $45,000. More details on this year’s event will be announced soon.

Share the Warmth is a Montreal-based social services organization that aims to help those in  need. They offer tutoring services, music and cooking lessons, food banks, programs and more at a low cost. Its mission is to keep the hopes and dreams of the young members of the Montreal community alive. For more information, visit sharethewarmth.ca.
