Sainte-Anne College to open elementary school
As of September of next year, the city of Dorval will have a brand-new private, bilingual school for primary-school students.
This new school, called Sainte-Anne Academy, will be a branch of Sainte-Anne International College in Lachine. This school is located at the building that just last year was Queen of Angels all-girls’ high school.
The academy will offer both preschool and primary programs, with many activities centred on creativity. The school promises the perfect environment for youngsters to learn both French and English, and even Spanish in the third cycle. Whether students are French, English, or bilingual will not matter. The school promises individual attention for their students, reverse teaching, and cyber learning.
Sainte-Anne Academy will have a curriculum that includes the ministry of education’s program, as well as the programs and activities Sainte-Anne is known for: art lessons, language classes and horticulture, as well as art programs like fine arts lessons, dance, music and drama. All of these will be offered to all students, including those in the preschool program. Physical education, outdoor activities and obligatory study lessons will be scheduled daily.
The building has 120,000 square feet, with 500,000 square feet of green space on the surrounding land. The school will have mobile offices, relaxation areas, science labs, theme areas and a greenhouse.
Sainte-Anne Academy will host an open house on Oct. 4, 2014, with guided tours at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
