Rodeo comes to Jarry Park

City dwellers can kick up their heels — literally — when the “Rock ‘n' Bull Rodeo” roars into town from June 2 to 5, 2010 at Jarry Park. Visitors can check out a special “Western Village” created for the event, with activities and concerts that will turn everyone into a cowboy for the day. The event will showcase 70 exhibitors, from food kiosks to line dancers.

There will activities for all ages, including a small animal farm for children, face painting, inflatable games, a clown, trained horse show and some musical entertainment. Adults can try riding a mechanical bull, having a Wild West paintball duel or entering the greased pig contest. Tickets cost $3 per person/day, children under 6 and elders over 65 are free.

The rodeo kicks off June 2 with a performance by American band Creedence Clearwater Revisited at the Stade Uniprix stadium at 8 p.m. (Tickets must be purchased separately). On June 3 and 4 at 8 p.m. the best cowboys in the world will face the best bulls in the world. Finally, the event will host a stellar halftime show with performances by Jonas, Nanette, PAG and Daisy Magnum. For more information, visit www.rodeorocknbull.com.
