Programs for young kids on Mount Royal

Fall and its beautiful colours are coming and kids can take part in an immersive experience in nature on Mount Royal. Les Amis de la Montagne, a non-profit group that works to protect and promote the well-being of the mountain, has created Club Amis, including two programs, for children ages 3-8 to make discoveries of their own and become more in tune with nature.

Les Morios is a program where 3-5 year olds can join an adventure through Mount Royal. Guided by an environmental educator, this parent-child activity allows kids to sing with the birds, play with the trees, dance under the rain, imagine and share mystical tales outdoors, and more. It takes place every Wednesday between 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. from Sept. 28 to Nov. 30. Cost is $110 for nine outings or $75 for five.

Les Grimpereaux invites young explorers to discover the diverse habitats of the mountain and learn more about the plant and animal life. This program encourages children ages 6-8 to sharpen their senses and awaken their natural instincts. It takes place every second Saturday, from Sept. 17 to Nov. 26; from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. Cost is $120 for six sessions.

Registration for both programs is open until Sept. 16.
