Pride Montreal lines up day of kids’ activities

This year’s Pride festivities in Montreal will feature a Kids’ Day on Thursday, Aug. 14.

It’s a free activity, open to all children who are accompanied by an adult. The event starts at 9 a.m. at Place Émilie-Gamelin and runs until 2 p.m., and will feature face painting and inflatable games. Kids will be able to take advantage of free snacks and refreshments.

There will also be a number of shows, including one by Comtesse Harmonia, a children’s singer who preaches tolerance, love and acceptance.

Pride Montréal kicks off Aug. 11. At 8:30 p.m., the Olympic Stadium will be lit up with the colours of the rainbow.

The parade is on the final day of the festival, Sunday, Aug. 17. It starts at 1 p.m. and runs along René-Levesque Blvd.
