Planetarium show transforms kids into spaceship captains

Look up. Look way up and get ready to blast off with Quest for New Skies, the most recent adventure showing at the Planetarium Rio Tinto Alcan. This new production transforms spectators into spaceship captains, so get ready to set course as you explore the universe with friends and family in tow.

The date is October 28, 3034 and you are part of a group who are exploring different planets in order to choose the best one for humanity. After considering their different characteristics, you have a crucial job: to vote and decide on which planets to visit. Your choices and those of your fellow crew members will influence the direction of the journey. Who knows what you will meet when you arrive at the destination? Will they be habitable, with conditions just right for liquid water to exist on the planet’s surface? Perhaps they will be threatening? Or a paradise?

During the 40-minute show, kids will likely experience a sense of wonder about the vastness of space and the possibilities of life beyond our own planet. The show’s interactive nature, where the audience gets to vote on which planets to visit, adds an element of excitement and engagement, making it an immersive experience.

The 360° dome projection offers spectators a visually rich experience that is sure to fuel family discussions. Music composed by Alexandre Gendron from MoonCube Games and inspired by video games is an exciting soundtrack for the intergalactic voyage.

Quest for New Skies runs until the end of April, 2023 Reservations must be made online.
