PAW Patrol launching spin-off show

Get ready parents, because the world of PAW Patrol is expanding.

The year 2023 is going to be big for fans of the pack of pups and their adventures. The popular and award-winning series will celebrate its 10th anniversary, release a movie sequel in theatres, and debut Rubble & Crew — a brand-new animated spinoff centred around the gruff and lovable English Bulldog Rubble.

Set in the community of Builder Cove, a neighbouring town to PAW Patrol’s Adventure Bay, the show follows Rubble and his pup family as they use their construction vehicles and building knowledge to fix and repair the town, and encounter high-stakes adventures along the way.

“Rubble & Crew is an all-new series focusing on family and community, and it’s filled with new characters and big adventures that lean into construction play patterns that will let the audience engage in a whole new way,” says Ramsey Naito, President, Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation.

In the expanding town of Builder Cove, Rubble is the leader of the construction crew, and there’s lots of work to do for the community to come together. A bigger airport is needed, and a train station, bridges, tunnels, schools, fire stations, parks and more have to get built. Thankfully, Rubble and his construction pup family are ready to work together to tackle all the projects.

Jennifer Dodge, Spin Master’s President of Entertainment and Executive Producer, describes Rubble as a loyal optimist, with a penchant for treats. “Our new series expands Rubble’s world with storytelling that digs into amazing construction projects and the importance of family, combined with high-stakes action, fun adventures and messy demolition that preschoolers will love,” she says.

Along with occasional appearances by familiar friends from Adventure Bay, Rubble & Crew will feature new characters including Wheeler, who has a talent for tidiness, Charger, a pup full of energy (and the zoomies!) who’s always eager to help out, and Grandpa Gravel and Auntie Crane. The crew will face challenges as they work, especially from Speed Meister, who runs the rival construction company in town along with his slow-moving villainous sidekick, Mr. McTurtle.

Produced by Spin Master Entertainment, the 26-episode series launches on Nickelodeon on Friday, Feb. 3, at 11:30 a.m.
