Montreal Families

Parents and Kids Fair aims to help parents of young kids

Whether you’re pregnant and overwhelmed or a parent facing a number of challenges with your toddler,  there’s likely someone who can offer some guidance at the annual Parents and Kids Fair being held at Place Bonaventure from April 7 to 10.

Geared to families with kids up to the age of 6, the fair features hundreds of exhibitors giving advice on topics, such as childbirth, breastfeeding, fashion, and consumer-conscious toys and games. Several new features have been added to this year’s 24th edition, including a pyjama party, a beach party and a virtual activity that teaches kids about safety around the house. There will also be an area to breastfeed and change diapers.

And there are activities for the kids: face painting, temporary tattoos, a magic show and a giant sandbox as well as a performance by Montreal singer Marie-Élaine Thibert. Admission is $14 for adults, $11 for seniors and students and is free for children under the age of 12. Opening hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, visit parentsandkidsfair.com.
