Overnight stay offered at Redwood Day Camp

Would you like your child to have a taste of what it’s like to go to sleepaway camp, with all the benefits of a day camp? Redwood Country Day Camp will be offering its popular overnight program from June 24 to August 16 this summer in addition to its eight weeks of day camps. The camp is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year.

Located on a 27-acre property in Vaudreuil, Redwood has activities such as swimming, waterslides, nature walks, biking, arts and crafts, and additional activities like Quidditch, golf and horseback riding. During Redwood’s overnight program, the fun activities continue into the evening.

Children in Grades 1 to 5 can stay overnight one night a week; the building is equipped with bunkbeds, a kitchen, dining area and washrooms. Up to 14 campers will be monitored by three staff members during their stay. Kids will spend their evening playing games, having extra swim time, taking hay rides and participating in cookouts. Campers will be grouped according to grade level. Overnights are offered every week on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday.

This activity is a good opportunity for parents to see how their child does away from home overnight and is offered exclusively to children taking part in the day camp. The overnight stay is very popular, and spaces fill up fast. The cost is $85 for one night, and includes dinner, breakfast and lunch the next day.

Redwood also offers a door-to-door bussing service for campers living in the West End of Montreal as well as a lunch program. Fees for the day camp vary depending on the number of weeks chosen, transportation needs and the age of the child.
