Ormstown celebrates country living
If you want a taste of country life this summer, check out the 101st edition of Expo Ormstown. This volunteer-run event aims to provide a fun and valuable educational country experience for the whole family.
The expo offers a variety of events including livestock exhibitions where families can visit the sheep, goat and pig areas as well as cattle barns where they can see different types of cows and how milk is extracted from them. In addition, there will be a midway, equestrian events, agricultural displays, handicrafts produced in the Chateauguay Valley, baked goods and flower displays, musical and dance performances, tractor pulls, and a demolition derby.
Children can touch and feed more than 60 animals at the petting zoo, and pony rides will be available.
Admission is free for children ages 5 and under, $5 for children 6 to 12 and $10 for those 13 and up.
The expo takes place June 11 to 14. Ormstown is south west of Montreal. Take the Mercier Bridge and Rte. 138 West through Châteauguay and continue towards Ormstown until Allan’s Corners and take your first left onto ch. de la Rivière Châteauguay.
