Orchard House moving to new eco-friendly facility

Orchard House, a Montessori-based centre for early childhood development, will soon have a brand new eco-friendly location in N.D.G., custom-built for little ones. Childproofing, a special ventilation system that minimizes the circulation of viruses and is kinder to asthma sufferers, and heated floors are just a few of the features the new facility boasts.

Natural light will fill every room, thanks to big windows. There is a yoga room, large indoor gym, organic kitchen and petit chef kitchen where the children will be able to take part in food-related activities.

“We’ve created a space that is tailor-made for children’s needs,” General Director, Yasmine Ghandour said. “It gives me great comfort that we can do what we do and not have to worry about safety.”

Many daycares only take children starting at the age of 18 months. Orchard House will offer a new program for children as young as 12 months, which Ghandour explained gives parents who want or need to go back to work a welcome daycare option.

Orchard House will start moving classes from their Cote St. Antoine location into the new facility in November with plans to be completely settled in by January. Their new address is 4176 Grand Blvd. in N.D.G. They have one other location in Pointe Claire.
