With the colder weather on the horizon, families may be looking for some indoor fun for the kids? If so, consider checking out the Olympic Park on Sundays, when two of its pools transform into a sprawling aquatic playground.
Wibit Sundays is named after German water sports company Wibit, which creates inflatable jungle gyms. The installations include balance beams, slides, obstacles and a kayak-polo game.
Every Sunday, the playground will be set up in the main pool and diving pool. The structure is open to children 6 and up who know how to swim, but those under 7 must be monitored at all times by a guardian who is 16 or older. One guardian can tend to three children. There are six lifeguards on duty at all times during the activity.
The purchase of a ticket allows you access to the site for 70-minute time slots that begin at 10 a.m. and end at 4:55 p.m. At the end of the time slot, ticket holders can then move to the open swim section for free. The wading pool is also open Sundays, so while younger children can’t partake in the Wibit, they don’t have to stay home.
Note that Wibit Sundays will not be taking place on Dec. 1 and Dec. 15, 2019.
One session costs $11.40 for adults (16+) and $9.35 for children. The Olympic Park is at 4545 Pierre de Coubertin Ave.
