Miniature golf lovers can tee off at an 18-hole course located on the grounds of Golf Dorval in the West Island. Opened on July 16, 2021, the course challenges younger players while providing an entertaining experience for all ages.
Fun and Challenging Course
Shortly after its opening last year, we met up with a few friends and spent an hour putting our way around the charming and beautifully landscaped grounds. My teen hockey player showed golf skills I never knew he had (and upstaged me) while his younger brother needed constant reminding that he wasn’t on the driving range. Despite the repeated warnings, he still managed to sink his ball into the water under the windmill, fling it through the fencing (twice), and almost took out a window.
An hour gave us plenty of time to line up our shots and try a few (many) wayward ones over again. Some of our favourite obstacles included the wobbly bumps, the mini sand traps, the concrete pig, and the bridge and tunnel combo. The course has a par of 56, thanks to several par-3 and par-4 holes. I would like to boast that I did one hole in TWO SHOTS! But we’ll ignore the other ones that took around nine.
More about Golf Dorval
The venue is open daily at 11 a.m. with the last tee-off at 6:00 p.m. Though the website says no reservations are necessary and that it is “first come, first served”, when we arrived five minutes before opening time we were told that a group had priority and would be going before us. Luckily for us they were late and we were able to start right at 11 a.m., but it may be worth calling ahead to check that no groups are passing through at a certain time.
Rates: $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. Taxes are included.
They have different-sized clubs available and can accommodate all ages.
Do you think that you can sink your balls in fewer shots than us? Well, then it’s your turn to pick out your brightly coloured golf ball, grab a putter, and get out on the course. Fore!
