New camp themes at McCord Museum

For children who are more musically and historically inclined, the McCord Museum is offering a day camp for the fourth consecutive year that will include daily outdoor activities, including one to the museum’s urban forest on Victoria St.

The camp is for children between 5 and 12 years old and will have bilingual counsellors. It will feature two new themes.

Objects in the Limelight is a show-and-tell in which campers learn about the histories of different Montreal neighbourhoods with the help of artefacts and other objects, like teapots, phonographs and wooden sleds.

The second theme is called The Musical Museum and will offer workshops to teach campers how to perform traditional Quebecois songs.

The goal is to present history to children in a fun and engaging way by incorporating its exhibits into its day camp activities.

The McCord Museum’s day camp runs from June 30 to Aug. 22 and costs between $130 and $210 depending on the week chosen and discount received.

For more information, call 514-398-7100 or visit musee-mccord.qc.ca.
