Are you looking for a unique and artistic birthday party idea? Does your child love photography? My Studio Party has released a new Light Painting Star Party package that combines photography, light and creativity for kids and teens ages 8 to 17.
Participants will learn how to create a unique photo by painting with light. By using a slow-shutter speed, a camera can capture designs made by light. In a low-light area, kids can use a flashlight to draw shapes, write words, or make cool designs in the air, and then see them materialize in photographs.
Alexandra Lafontaine, photographer and facilitator, says kids will love seeing their imagination come to life in pictures. “It’s almost like magic,” she said. She says that this activity is also a fun way for kids to develop their spatial awareness, since the designs are invisible to the naked eye while the kids are making them, and they will only see them in the pictures.
The activity lasts between 45 minutes to one hour. A facilitator sets up and explains the activity, and a professional photographer takes pictures. Party goers will practice drawing their designs first, and then will do the light painting activity. They will make both individual designs as well as a group design for the birthday boy or girl.
The basic package costs $215 for up to eight children, with a small additional fee for larger groups (there is no maximum number of participants). For an extra cost, parents can choose to add on features to the package like personalized VIP passes, a highlights video, or a red-carpet photoshoot with accessories.
My Studio party has other packages and will travel on the island of Montreal and in surrounding areas.
