Music school holds fundraising concert

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Montreal Children's Hospital

On June 22, Broadway Academy is holding a fundraising event at Place des Arts to benefit the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

Vivat Broadway will feature an evening of musical performances by current and former students as well as instructors. Pulled from hit shows like Hamilton, Kinky Boots and Pippin, over a dozen musicians will belt out show tunes in the form of solos, duets and a choir.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards making clothes for premature babies at the Montreal Children’s Hospital. Every year, the Academy puts on benefit concerts and donates toys to the hospital, and discovered a need for custom robes and garments to properly clothe their tiniest patients.

Tickets to the event cost $33.85 and can be purchased through the Place des Arts website. The show begins at 7 p.m. in the Claude-Léveillée hall.

Located in Westmount, Broadway Academy offers year-round music and dance programs and workshops for kids, teens and adults.
