If you’re looking for a weekend of free fun with your kids, you might want to check out this year’s Kids POP Montreal music festival, happening June 4 and 5, 2011 at the Ukrainian Federation at 5213 Hutchison St. (corner of Fairmount Ave.). There will be a series of activities and workshops that will cater to children of all ages. On Saturday, June 4, kids will learn about a technology used to create special effects in movies, build their own time capsules, and create a “Zine,” which is a handmade magazine about the things they love. On Sunday, they can create posters, learn how to make music, play various instruments as well as write and record songs. Maybe the most anticipated event on Sunday will be kid-parent karaoke backed by a live band.
