Montreal Families

Montreal Families’ 2011 Resource Directory hits the streets

Published twice a year, the directory is regularly updated as we find new and interesting businesses or organizations. This fall, we added several new categories under the Family Services & Support section:

  • Grief Counselling lists various organizations that specialize in helping families deal with the loss of a loved one.
  • Suicide Prevention has resources from provincial and federal associations, a support group for families who have been affected by a suicide and a help line for kids who are in severe distress.
  • Consumer Advocacy lists telephone numbers and website information on everything from the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Protection office to the Canadian Human Rights Commission and the Consumer Product Safety Bureau.
  • Single Parent Support lists various supports groups, including one specifically geared for dads and a program that helps single parents reintegrate into the workforce.
  • Government Services lists various resources such as an automated tax information line, financial assistance for families, immigration information, health & social services and more!

And those are just a few of the improvements we have made in our quest to bring you the most comprehensive directory of local products and services for families. You can also find all of this information, and much more, online at www.montrealfamilies.ca.
