McCord Museum builds toy adventure with kids in mind
Many museums are kid-friendly in that they are appropriate for all ages, but when it comes to holding the attention of little ones, the McCord Museum’s Island of Toys exhibit is as sure a bet as any.
Ideal for children between the ages of 3 and 9, Island of Toys allows kids to follow a quest, keeping them fully occupied.
In the exhibit, mechanical monkey Gustav Müller has just hit an iceberg while sailing in his vessel. The children must help search for the survivors of the wreck on a nearby island. The exhibit contains over 200 toys from the museum’s collection and the children, equipped with a map, must find missing monkeys, which are hidden among the toys. The exhibit runs from Nov. 16 to April 19, 2015.
Admission is free for children under 12.
The McCord Museum is located at 690 Sherbrooke St. W.
