Legoland construction underway in Florida

Aquazone at Legoland in FloridaKids — and adults — who are crazy for Lego building blocks will be happy to know that a new Legoland theme park will be opening in Winter Haven, Florida in October. Located about an hour’s drive from Orlando, Legoland is geared toward families with children ages 2 to 12 and will have more than 50 rides as well as shows, restaurants, shops and botanical gardens. Structures built from Lego will include a shark’s head, a snoring grandpa and Merlin in a castle. There will also be roller coasters, an Egyptian-themed maze and plenty of water rides to cool off visitors. A one-day pass will cost $65 US for adults and $55 for children under 12 and seniors. There are family packages that combine hotel rooms with passes to the park. For information, call (800) 979-9983 or go to http://florida.legolandtravel.com.
