Lovable Dora & friends coming to Montreal
Parents and preschoolers rejoice: the much beloved Dora the Explorer is coming to town. As part of her nationwide tour, Dora and her chums will be making a stop at the Olympia de Montreal on May 9.
The 70-minute live musical production is entitled, Dora the Explorer Live! Search for the City of Lost Toys. The performance combines the best loved elements of the television series including songs, games, puzzles and audience participation. Dora will need the help of her young friends in the audience to find her lost teddy bear. They will use their map-reading, counting, music and language skills to find their way to the City of Lost Toys. But it won’t be easy. There will be many obstacles in their way and the mischievous Swiper will also create problems. But Diego, Boots, Map, Backpack, Tico, Isa, Benny will be there to lend a hand.
The Dora television series has been on the air since 2000 and is renowned for its educational plots and interactive elements. Widely praised for making learning fun and for delivering empowering and affirmative messages; the show won a Peabody Award in 2003 and has been nominated for an Emmy 16 times.
