Les Ateliers Turcotte (LAT) has had a long-time presence on N.D.G.’s Monkland Ave., where for the past 14 years it has offered dance and gymnastics classes to students of all ages.
In an effort to expand, LAT invited three local companies to share its studio space; Bellesmamans, Studio Bump and Mamadances.
LAT founder LynnAnne Turcotte said she wanted to choose companies that shared her values and priorities. “I wanted to find companies that were family-based and community-oriented,” she said.
“We each have our own niche, so there is no competition between us,” Turcotte said.
Turcotte will continue to offer the same classes that have made her a Monkland Ave. staple since 2000, but under the LATmontreal.dance moniker and website.
“N.D.G. has been very supportive to me for the last 14 years, and Monkland, in particular, is growing and becoming more dynamic,” she said. “I want to do my part to spruce up my corner of it, and keep contributing to the community.”
