Learn how to fish at Lasalle’s annual festival

Youngsters who are interested in learning how to fish can do so at the annual Fish Fest in Lasalle.

Kids aged 6 to 17 can learn how to fish at beginner workshops held between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 3. The ponds will be reserved only for them during that time. A rod and fishing guide will be provided. At the end of the workshop, a fishing certificate will be given to the kids. Places are limited to 100 participants, so registration is required.

From 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 3 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, the ponds at Des Rapides Park will be open for fishing. People are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear and catch some rainbow trout that will be  in the pond. In order to maximize the number of people who can participate, the limit is five trout per person.

The Fish Fest is being organized by Héritage Laurentien, a non-profit organization with a mission to protect the natural environment.

Register here from Monday, May 22 to Thursday, June 1, 2023.
