Fort Chambly National Historic site will host a fencing competition and kids will be able to test out some of the equipment and watch demonstrations about proper technique

Get your swords ready and prepare for combat during the second edition of Duel Fort Chambly.

The fencing tournament, hosted by Escrime Mont-Royal, takes place on Saturday, June 11 at the Fort Chambly National Historic Site. The competition is geared to kids 14 and up who have some experience in competitions, but exceptions will be made for competitors under the age of 12 who have permission from a fencing coach. The event will also feature demonstrations on the sport’s proper techniques along with informative exhibitions on the differences between modern and historical fencing. Visitors will get the chance to test out some of the equipment and put their newfound fencing skills to the test.

The event begins at 10 a.m. Registration fee for competitors is $45 before June 5 and $60 after that date.

Admission for kids ages 6-16 is $2.90 and an adult ticket costs $5.65. Fort Chambly National Historic site is located at 2 de Richelieu St., Chambly. The event will be postponed to the following day if it rains. For more information, call 514-483-6944 or click here.
