Kids’ clothing store offers designer labels
Is your kid a burgeoning fashionista? If you replied yes, you might want to consider a trip to Studio Kidz, one of Montreal’s newest children’s clothing stores.
“It’s like a big playground,” says owner Gina Conforti, whose store has a kids’ play lounge, complete with an XBOX, PlayStation, toys and a candy bar. Moreover, all the walls are adorned with hand painted animals and special quotes.
Kids and teens up to 16 years old can browse through the boutique’s assortment of clothing, shoes and accessories, which cater to an eclectic palette of tastes and styles, from funky to formal. The store carries many designer labels, such as Vierra Rose and La Miniatura from L.A., Baby Beast from Detroit, Sierra Julian from New York, Fresh baked and Duke of London from Australia.
“I’m trying to offer something other than the saturated, mass-produced brands in Montreal,” Conforti says. “We have quality designs that bring originality to (kids’) wardrobes at a reasonable price.”
Despite the fact that celebrity children have sported some of the labels Studio Kidz carries, don’t expect to break the bank when you shop at the boutique, with apparel starting at $20.
“We also deal with a lot of Canadian brands, like Olivia Rose and Juliette et Prince for instance,” says Conforti. “Helping out local businesses is important to me.”
Studio Kidz is located at 6004 Grandes-Prairies Blvd. in St. Leonard. It is closed on Sundays.
