Local singer-songwriter Jennifer Gasoi is launching a new CD on September 30, 2012.
Throw a Penny in a Wishing Well is her latest musical adventure, filled with inspiring messages about living in the moment and being true to yourself.
Gasoi says she tries to write songs that help develop a child’s moral compass. For example, the song Red Balloon features a child who puts a message in a balloon, then lets it go. The aim of the song is to help kids think about what they would write as a message, how they want to live their lives, and how they want to contribute to the world.
The CDs musical style is a mix of jazz, klezmer, Cajun, calypso and 1950s style doo-wop. She will be joined on stage by a full band at the Rialto Theatre, 5723 du Parc Ave., at 11 a.m. (doors open at 10:15 a.m.). It is general admission seating. Tickets are $15 for children, $18 for adults, and $60 for a family pass of two adults and two children.
