If your family is looking to get in the Halloween “spirit” with a fun outdoor activity, why not check out Upper Canada Village in Ontario. Pumpkinferno is an annual event for all ages that features more than 7,000 handcrafted, glowing pumpkins on a kilometre long path.
This year, its most popular exhibits are being brought back to life, including the fantasy-inspired landscape of Enchanted Forest, and painted and carved works of art in Night at the Gallery.
Manager Tracey Ogilby says the staff has been working diligently to ensure visitors have an exceptional experience even amidst the pandemic. New rules are in place to ensure guests are spaced out and able to maintain physical distancing. To keep nightly attendance at safe levels as well as to promote a touchless experience, tickets are date- and-time specific and only available online.
While the experience takes place outdoors and is designed to accommodate mobility aids such as wheelchairs, accessibility nights are also offered on October 13 and 20 for those with special needs. Reservations for accessibility nights must be made in advance by calling 800-437-2233.
Pumpkinferno runs until Oct. 31. The cost is $16 per person and it is free for kids 4 and under. Upper Canada Village is located at 13740 County Road 2, Morrisburg, Ont.
