Chapters and Indigo Montreal-area locations are hosting a “mom’s night out” shopping event on Nov. 9 and 10. Billed as an evening for mothers to escape and collapse in a heap with People magazine get some holiday shopping done, the printable coupon says that “kids experts” will be giving tips on books and toys.

If you print out the coupon, you get 15 per cent off your purchases, or 25 per cent off if you’re an iRewards member.

Mais oui, they want us to buy stuff. But they’re also smart enough to reel in excitement-starved moms with “gourmet food sampling”! I’ll bite.

UPDATE: On Saturday, Nov 13, Montreal-area Chapters and Indigo stores will be celebrating the launch of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Ugly Truth with a special event. As of 11 a.m., there will be readings from the new book, and a signed copy of the book to give away in stores. The book is popular with boys age 9 to 12.
