You can introduce your child to the art of puppetry during the annual Festival Casteliers from March 3 to 10, 2013.
Puppeteers from France, the Netherlands, Scotland, Ontario and Quebec will share their art in five shows for families and five for adults.
Let Potato and the rest of his gang of fruits and vegetables share their story with the help of original music in the theater production of Potato Needs a Bath. Or follow one of the world’s countless plastic bags on a journey in the presentation of Afternoon of a Foehn. Other shows like Luna, dans les Yeux de mon Père and The Mad Puppet Master will likely have children captivated by the puppets and other forms of art.
A workshop for children ages 4 and up will be held on Sunday, March 10 at 1:30 p.m. where artists will showcase their puppets and have children build their own string marionettes. Register in advance.
Shows are geared for children ages 2 and up and will be held throughout Montreal. Presentations are in French (some are silent shows). Prices vary.
