Montreal Families

International Balloon Festival has many family activities

This year’s edition of the International Balloon Festival of St. Jean-sur-Richelieu, which is set to take place from Aug. 9 to 17,  will feature 14 family activities, shows by bands like Hedley and Half Moon Run, and, of course, hot air balloons filling the sky.

Activities will include an entertainment zone, in which children will be able to dress up (makeup and hair included) for a special photo shoot. Visitors can discover what the inside of a hot-air balloon looks like, play in the world’s largest inflatable park, explore a haunted inflated structure named The Beast, and take a little break at a rest and play area. New this year, children will be able to showcase their singing skills at an outdoor karaoke event.

The website even has a new function; you can custom build your experience by typing which days you plan on attending and whether you will go with friends or family. The site will generate the best schedule for your needs.

One-day tickets cost $8 for children aged 3 to 12 and $20 for adults, but $30 on Saturday. Children 2 and under get in for free. Family passes are available.
