Imaginary world comes to life at Verdun Puppet festival
Come and celebrate the end of summer with a puppet procession at the Festival Marionnettes Plein la rue in Verdun. Taking place on Friday evenings and Saturdays from August 26 to September 3, 2022, the 11th edition of the festival will treat young and old alike to a whimsical display of puppeteering.
Over one kilometre of Promenade Wellington will come alive with captivating small-scale puppets, marionettes, and larger-than-life creations that will entertain and delight.
“The puppet festival is the perfect activity for the whole family as it covers all sorts of puppet shows: from inhabited puppets, rod puppets, hand puppets to exhibitions…let yourself be surprised!” said Promenade Wellington Comunity Manager Claire Groulx-Robert. “We promise a variety of creations that will amaze all ages.”

The free performances will be presented by more than 20 companies at venues and parks adjacent to the borough’s lively Promenade Wellington. Highlights of the festival include shows aimed at the youngest spectators and hands-on creative workshops that delve into the world of puppeteering.
