illumi lights up summer nights

For the first time since its inauguration in October 2019, the illumi sound, light, and multimedia show is being presented to the public throughout the summer.

The installation will benefit from the addition of outdoor terraces, seasonal touches through the Dazzling World of Lights space, music that will have visitors dancing under the giant Tree of Lights, and themed evenings including Doggie Night where you can bring along your leashed four-legged friends.

From June 22 to August 6, summer’s warm temperatures allow for a different experience from the traditional winter walk or drive-through. Kids and adults can discover the “bal des ballons” ball pit where a tent filled with thousands of beach balls makes for a laughter-filled experience for young and old. And a terrace that can accommodate 400 people has been installed on the most elevated portion of the site. At 20-metres high, the terrace offers a breathtaking view of the installations below and features an additional light and music projection every half hour.

Walk or ride

Visitors can travel by foot or car along the three-kilometre-long route where glittering scenes have been created with 25 million LED bulbs. High-definition projections and animatronics bring to life the fantastical world of the “Martian forest”, fifty huge dinosaurs — including 18 animated T-Rex, Velociraptors, Brachiosauruses and Triceratops in “Jurassic Kingdom”, and the adorable critters of “The Egg-ceptional Farm”.

“We are very proud of our event, entirely imagined and produced in Quebec, and fortunate to be able to continue to offer magic and happiness for a 3rd consecutive edition despite another season affected by the pandemic,” said Normand Latourelle, creator of illumi and Cavalia. “We received several comments from our visitors who asked to live the experience in summer, and we answered the call! The tradition is really established, and we continue our adventure with you from the end of June!”
