Although it hasn’t been on display in Montreal since the Canadiens won the playoffs in 1993, the Stanley Cup is still revered by many people in the city. Hockey enthusiasts can now learn about the Cup and its origins at a new exhibit in Dorval.

The Hockey Cup History travelling exhibit will be on display at the Dorval Museum of Local History and Heritage from Nov. 2 until April 21, 2019. The exhibit features over 50 hockey-related artifacts, including information about Lord Stanley, photos of Maurice Richard, trophies, rings, hockey sticks, archival footage and more. Visitors are also invited to play hockey on a tabletop game.

The exhibit will also document the history of hockey in Dorval, as well as highlight famous players from the area with a timeline. Every month, the museum will host a hockey-related activity, including storytelling sessions with hot chocolate and lectures by hockey historians. In December, kids can participate in a make-your-own-goalie-mask workshop.

The museum also houses a permanent exhibit about the history of Dorval with plenty of fun for kids, including animated movies, interactive displays and more. Popular among young and old visitors are the stables, which feature life-sized and colourful model horses.

Admission to the exhibit is free and the museum is located at 1850 Lakeshore Dr. in Dorval. It is open Thursday to Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m.
