Harvest festival produces old-fashioned fun
On the Sunday of Labour Day weekend, families can learn about old-fashioned traditions and activities at the Harvest Festival at the historical Maison Saint-Gabriel museum.
The day will begin with an auction followed by a concert of popular music performed by Ensemble Claude-Gervais. Enjoy an afternoon meeting a variety of characters who will show off their trades including a blacksmith, a basket weaver, a glass blower and an arrow-weaving specialist. You can also catch storyteller Lucie Bisson in the garden telling tales of werewolves and black magic. Be sure to grab a slice of cake from Aux Pures Délices or visit the Farmhouse garden and try their products with a piece of old-style bread baked in a traditional bread oven.
The event takes place Sept. 6, at 2146 place Dublin in Pointe St. Charles at 10:30 a.m. Admission costs $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, $3 for children 6 and up and $25 for the family pack (two adults, three children).
