Guided Tour: Chartier de Lotbiniere Park, Rigaud
This spatious Rigaud park has activities for toddlers, teens and parents, in a beautiful forested setting. With a long brick walkway leading to a cozy-looking chalet, and tall trees in the background, Chartier de Lotbinière Park makes a great family hangout.
Climbing Structures, Skate Park and Water Play
Children will be jazzed to find modern play equipment that works for age 1 to about 8. During the summer, the water play equipment (jets and fountains) makes it even more fun. Once kids are too cool for the park, there are skateboarding ramps, basketball hoops and a sports field for kicking a ball around. Parents may even be able to get in some tennis at the courts. In the winter, an outdoor ice rink is set up; this community hub is also the venue for events like the Cocorigaud Easter egg hunt and fall’s Festival des Couleurs.
Where to Eat?
If you visit the park and work up an appetite, it’s a short drive from a casual restaurant called l’Etoile de Rigaud on the main street, which serves weekend brunch – a great way to eat out with kids because you don’t have to wait for your order! There is also an IGA grocery store nearby if you want to pick up food for a picnic.
