Lasalle retailer Goldtex has recently made the jump to the world of online shopping. The company, which began as a manufacturer of baby pyjamas in 1976 for Canadian department stores like The Bay and Sears, expanded its selection of products and opened a storefront in 1988.
Today, Goldtex sells a broad range of clothing and accessories for babies and children like T-shirts, sweatpants, casual dresses, baptism dresses, suits, tap dance shoes, snowsuits, car seats, breastfeeding accessories, and toys.
Although customers can browse through the inventory online, not all of their products are available for purchase through the digital platform just yet, says store manager Tony Villella. For example, some of the children’s formal wear is currently only available in the store, but he says all of their clothing will be available online within the next year.
Villella says the shift to online shopping was prompted by growing customer demand and a desire to offer Goldtex products to shoppers outside of the Montreal area. Customers can have products delivered to their homes or shipped to the store for pickup.
Goldtex is located at 8875 Salley St. in Lasalle and is open Monday to Saturday.
