Giggle and relax during spring break

The TD-Blue Metropolis Children’s Festival is presenting new and original activities to entertain children and families during spring break.

As of February 20, eleven new activities have been added online to a wide-range of ongoing programming that began in the fall. Unwinding with The Giggles features storytelling, author meet-and-greets on Facebook Live, laughter yoga, quizzes, and reading recommendations for kids of different ages.

Everyone can cozy up in their pjs and listen to My Granny Loves Hockey read by author Lori Weber live on Facebook on March 4 at 9:30 a.m. and tune in to a podcast featuring a funny version of the Three Little Pigs. Hot Chocolate Story Time includes videos of Indigenous and international tales such as The House on the Lake, an Irish folk tale by Edmund Leamy and told by actors Holly Gauthier Franckel and Eric Davis. Laughter Yoga / Le Yoga du rire, is presented in English and French by Sylvie Dagenais-Douville and will have everyone following along to simple breathing techniques and having a giggling-good time.

Activities are available in English and in French, and are aimed at children aged 4 to 12 as well as parents.

Plongez en famille dans l’univers fabuleux des contes! Elfes, sorcières, tigres parlant, ânes chantant, princesses…

About the Blue Metropolis Foundation

This not-for-profit organization was founded in 1997 and brings together people from different cultures to share in the pleasures of reading and writing and encourage creativity and intercultural understanding. Blue Metropolis Foundation produces an annual literary festival and offers year-round activities as part of the TD-Blue Metropolis Children’s Festival as well as educational and social programs in the classroom, in libraries, and online. These programs use reading and writing as therapeutic tools, to encourage academic perseverance and fight against poverty and social isolation. TD is the major partner of Blue Metropolis’s youth sector, which includes programming for children between the ages of 4 and 12 as well as a wide range of social programs.
