German school expands program for toddlers

The Alexander von Humboldt German International School in Baie d’Urfé is now offering both three- and five-day enrollment for its “mini-preschool” program, geared to children ages 2 1/2 to 3. In addition to selecting the number of days, parents can opt for either a full day, ending at 3 p.m., or a half day, ending at 1 p.m. Start times for both options is 8:30 a.m.

The program includes an introduction to German through stories and songs, playtime, snacks and gym time. Once a week, the little ones visit the school cafeteria to practice eating like the big kids.

The school is hosting an open house on October 14, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The school is located at 216 Victoria St. in Baie D’Urfé.
